Savoury breakfasts, and incredibly welcoming staff.
Absolutely fabulous, large room with an electric kettle, central heating and an iron. Stunning and fantastic setting in the peaceful area, just next door to attractive Elsdon as well as the restaurant. Again, 5 minutes walk from St Cuthbert's Church.

Pretty friendly and amicable staff, it was really great stay.
It was in a stunning and incredible location in a lovely area. And it was also not far from Alnwick and the centre and the coast. This was my 2nd stay, they offered family room. Hair dryers, a walk-in shower, and bath sheets were very handy.

Staying at this hotel was a pleasant experience. The room was spotlessly clean with nice little extras, and the breakfast was good. We did notice condensation on the windows in the morning, and the hall could use a fresh coat of paint.

Charming ambiance complemented by beautifully decorated rooms makes this stay nice. The friendly service stands out, especially when they went out of their way to prepare a delicious chili after the kitchen was closed. The absence of food service on Sundays may inconvenience some travelers. While parking is available, finding nearby laundry options seemed limited during our short visit.

pleasant stay with a charming atmosphere
The lovely rural location provided us with a quaint pub atmosphere. The delicious breakfast menu was very good, and we appreciated the snacks available for our hike.
The noise from a group gathering at the hotel early in the morning was disruptive.

The family room provided a quiet retreat, nestled in a peaceful village, perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Hadrian's Wall. The welcome was warm, highlighted by friendly staff. The dining options were somewhat limited and could benefit from more variety, especially beyond Indian cuisine. A few amenities felt dated and in need of updates.

The breakfast was an absolute winner-fresh, hot, and probably the best I've ever had! Plus, the cozy country pub had a great vibe. Those little extras like coffee in the king room were just the cherry on top!
The only hiccup was the noise seeping through the not-so-soundproof walls, but frankly, it wasn't a deal-breaker. Just a cheeky reminder that you're in a bustling little pub atmosphere. We also had to deal with condensation on the windows, but opening them soon cleared that up.
